Water Balance
Maintaining clear pool water is a combination of properly balanced pool water and good filtration.
Proper water balance ensures swimmer comfort and protects the life expectancy of your pool surface and equipment.
We recommend a complete water analysis in the spring & fall, once a month or as needed during the pool season. Our entire staff at Pietila Pools is highly trained in water chemistry & pool maintenance, and will be happy to assist you throughout the summer. Computerized water analysis is free of charge.
Ideal Factors For Pools
- Free Chlorine 1.0 – 3.0 ppm
- Total Bromine 2.0 – 4.0 ppm
- Stabilizer (not necessary in brominated pools) 40 – 200 ppm
- pH 7.4
- Total Alkalinity 125 – 150
- Calcium Hardness
White Plaster: 200 – 275 ppm
All other: 175 – 225 ppm
- Metals (iron, copper, manganese)
All pools: NONE
